The Sunway is a small to medium sized four star hotel and was good value for money. The service was generally good as was the restaurant. Only exception was the laundry service which was very ordinary. The health club was small but adequate and clean as was the sauna and steam room. For families though note no swimming pool. Noise was not an issue and the hotel was either in walking distance or a short taxi ride to the various places of interest. I stayed there for seven nights and would stay there again. Stayed at this hotel in May 08. Staff polite and helpful, hotel restaurant serves good nicely presented food both western and asian style. Breakfast buffet has a good choice. This is the only hotel in Hanoi with drinkable water direct from the tap, a nice experience. We would stay at this hotel again. Eric, United Kingdom 

 We found this hotel on the internet and the actual hotel was better than the pictures displayed on the website. We travelled in SE asia for 5 weeks and this was one of the most we paid for a room but it was nice and clean and the service good. Neil, Australia

My partner and I spent 4 nights at the Sunway Hotel and found the stay pleasant. The hotel and staff were very FAMILY friendly. I found the sunway hotel in numerous travel books before booking it online at Asia Rooms at a significantly cheaper rate. The location was in a quiet street close to the Opera house. The area is very quiet and at no point were we fearful of walking at night. The staff were very friendly and more than willing to help. Breakfast was very good value with a large choice, one night due to a late return from a day tour we ate in the hotel resturant, the meal was good value we both ate Australian beef and a bottle of wine to a total of 30 USD. You can find good places to eat very cheaply within 5 - 10 min walk from the hotel. This hotel is good value.

Overall this hotel is a good deal. Disadvantage: nice restaurants and shopping district are quite far away.
