| Coffee tasting in Saigon City | |||||
|
While many foreigners can’t drink Vietnamese coffee, which is made by coffee filters because it’s very strong, the former general manager of the five-star hotel Renaissance Riverside Saigon, Albert Kaindlbauer, likes the special kind of coffee. “At first, my head was dizzy but I liked it then because it was strong and tasty. You will be interested when you see coffee-drops falling into the cup and have more time to think about everything,” the businessman once explained about one of his pleasures in HCMC. Kaindlbauer also likes to have coffee at cafés in the city and said there were too many coffee shops. The businessman has seen it is one of the different things of HCMC. Many foreigners share the same view with Kaindlbauer. Coffee shops are located on most streets in HCMC, especially downtown. More and more shops have unique designs, impressive interior decorations, larger areas, and are more crowded. Visitors have more choices of coffee tasting. It’s not only Vietnamese coffee but visitors also find many kinds of coffee from around the world as well as many kinds of cocktails and fruit juices. Many people even see the shops, especially shops in the heart of the city, as their second office because they can do their office work there thanks to services such as free wifi, free newspapers and magazines and breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. The city tourism department sees coffee shops as one of the interesting things of the city which can be promoted to foreigners. The department has collected ideas and comments from tour operators and experts to select a list of 15 good coffee shops for foreign visitors and has called for people to vote for ten of them. |
