Violent storm to enter East Sea, Vietnam 23rd June 2008

Typhoon Fengshen, which killed at least 17 people in the Philippines, is due to enter the eastern area of Vietnam’s East Sea this morning, the National Hydrometeorological Forecasting Center said Sunday. The typhoon is forecast to move north-northwest at about 15 kilometers an hour.

The strongest winds near the typhoon eye will be between 150 and 166 kilometers per hour. Fengshen should be at about 17 degrees north latitude, 118 degrees east longitude tomorrow afternoon. It will continue heading north-northwest at about 15 kilometers an hour.
